Outdoor cabinets – general information
The main goal of outside cabinets is to provide full protection to equipment installed inside. Enclosures must secure devices against adverse effects of environmental factors (rain, snow, solar radiation, high dustiness) and unauthorised access. An important task of cabinets is also to maintain specified thermal conditions inside, depending on the type of equipment installed.
SZD type outdoor cabinets manufactured by ZPAS-NET fulfil all the criteria listed above. Thanks to top-quality materials (aluminium, stainless steel sheet, aluzinc sheets), they can be applied in the most demanding outside environments. They are successfully used in Norway, Sudan, Cameroon, Peru, Mexico, Canada, Russia, Togo and many other countries. Double door and side panel walls offer additional protection against outside conditions, e.g. solar radiation, as well as preventing water vapour condensation inside. A robust screw-fastened structure guarantees shock resistance (according to PN-T 05110:1996 and PN-EN 60068:2002 standards) of 0.5 g, which is very important in transport to distant locations and assembly in seismically active areas. Aluminium profiles make it possible to design any layout and internal configuration of the enclosure. As a result, our enclosures can be used not only in telecommunications but also in any other application which requires protection of outdoor installations operating under extreme conditions. Thanks to their modular structure, the cabinets can be disassembled and transported in individual sections to their destination. Also, they can be easily expanded after several years in use.. Expansion methods offered by ZPAS-NET do not require power supply disconnection from the main enclosure and are performed by specially trained assembly teams. Appropriate temperatures inside, as defined in PN-ETSI EN 300 019-1-4 and PN-ETSI EN 300 019-1-3, are ensured thanks to heating units and a suitable cooling system. Heating and cooling elements are always selected on an individual basis, depending on computations performed by a dedicated application and type of equipment to be fitted inside.
ZPAS-NET also provides prefabricated elements for each enclosure type, made based on own designs or solutions developed by outside design offices. Outdoor telecommunication cabinets are typically fitted with systems ensuring stable power supply (power plants, batteries), AC and DC switchboards, complete 1- and 3-phase service connectors and passive electrical fittings (connection modules, distribution frames, cross-connection panels). SZD enclosures can also be used as a basis for constructing wiring cabinets, switchgear with busbar systems, as well as control and measuring cabinets. Customised to satisfy customer needs and made in strict compliance with customer specifications, ZPAS-NET outdoor cabinets have found their applications on ships and drilling platforms, in gas compressor and gas pumping stations, heat and power stations, local electricity authorities, refineries, cement plants, waste treatment plants, cable televisions, street lighting systems and many other venues. |
